KCGMC Karnal to Add 200 MBBS Seats and Trauma Center by 2026
Karnal, Haryana | September 2025 —
In a major boost to medical education and emergency care, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC) is set to expand its infrastructure with 200 additional MBBS seats and a state-of-the-art trauma center, scheduled for completion by 2026.
The expansion aims to address rising demand for medical professionals and improve critical care capacity across North Haryana. The trauma center will feature advanced surgical units, emergency response systems, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
“This isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a lifeline for Karnal and surrounding districts,” said a senior health official. “We’re investing in talent and technology.”
The move aligns with Haryana’s broader health mission, which includes digitized patient records, telemedicine access, and rural outreach programs. KCGMC’s expansion is expected to attract top faculty and research collaborations.
