NDMC to Mentor Palwal in Sanitation Overhaul Under ‘Swachh Shehar Jodi’
New Delhi | September 2025 —
In a strategic push for urban cleanliness, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Palwal Municipal Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the Swachh Shehar Jodi Initiative, committing to a 100-day sanitation transformation program.
NDMC, ranked among India’s top clean cities, will mentor Palwal in upgrading waste management, public hygiene, and citizen engagement. The collaboration includes training sessions, digital monitoring tools, and community-led cleanliness drives.
“This is not just a partnership—it’s a promise to elevate urban dignity,” said an NDMC official. “We’re sharing expertise, empathy, and execution.”
The initiative is part of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ broader mission to replicate best practices across tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Palwal aims to improve its Swachh Survekshan ranking and build sustainable civic infrastructure.
